"Thanks for the speedy reply Charmila. It sounds like your group is in the same stage as ours, mainly trying to raise awareness. We started with larger general meetings but they very quickly atrophied into a handful of people. . We now have a core…"

Hey Monica,
Transition Teeswater is still in its start up phase and we're trying to raise awareness about who we are an what we do. We have a steering group that stays in touch by email (because oddly enough for a group about local sustainability, 2 are from Teeswater, 2 from Kincardine and 1 from South Hampton) and organizes events. Each member doesn't have a defined position, we just collaborate and each do what is convenient (ie. I'm from Teeswater so I usually put up the posters and liaison with people in the community. Lynne Taylor usually designs the posters since she has more of a graphic eye, etc.) We don't have a monthly or set meeting since people would have to drive too far to get there. One problem that we've had is finding a space for our meetings. Being non-profit with little support yet we have extremely limited funding. The Town Hall charges so we've stopped using it and have used a church and our latest was at the Teeswater Library which is a good space but does have its drawbacks.
I hope that answers your questions. If you have any more just let me know. Best of luck with your Transition Movement.
Charmila
