Thanks for the speedy reply Charmila. It sounds like your group is in the same stage as ours, mainly trying to raise awareness. We started with larger general meetings but they very quickly atrophied into a handful of people. . We now have a core…

Thanks for the speedy reply Charmila. It sounds like your group is in the same stage as ours, mainly trying to raise awareness. We started with larger general meetings but they very quickly atrophied into a handful of people. . We now have a core committee and we're essentially showing movies (End of Suburbia, The 11th Hour etc) and planning more educational slide shows, speakers etc. Do you have a decision making process, ie voting, what happens when someone wants to join the committee, or is it all very informal and casual?

Has your group undertaken any action items other than educational at this point?
Do you have movies nights, speakers, go to schools..what has been your educational awareness raising spin so far? I noticed that a lot of TTowns, even ones that have been around for a long time, have remained in the awareness part of the project. I think it's a very important one, a step that I think our group tried initially to bypass, but when do the groups start the machinery of action? Are you following the handbook closely?
Thanks!!
I really appreciate your time. The TT movement is a fascinating one!

Hello Charmila, I'm a member of Durham Transition Town and am trying to find out from other groups what stage they are in, how they are organized (steering group? Membership? Monthly meetings? Voting? etc). Can you sketch out a brief outline of how the Teeswater Transition group functions? If you think someone else is better suited to answer these questions, please forward the name to me. As a small group we're trying to work through the stages of establishing a form and identity. Also, we are trying to figure out process in terms of action, education etc. Thanks kindly!
