CAR SHARERES! I have an idea (suggested by a person in my brainstorm group at the Transitions' meeting last night) of setting up a page just for car sharing--a notice board as well as a list of willing drivers for a regular ride and for occassional needs. WHat do you think? How can we do this?
I hope carsharing this way will expand into more--perhaps car purchasing together, i.e. several owners (my 3 sons do this!). Also, a car fleet that shares all maintenance costs and insurance and rents out for several hours to several days. (Toronto and Vancouver have these already).
Does NING have a page setup we could create for a carshare notice board? I'm new to NING. Warmly, Janet Jephcott

Hi! I am new to this group! I want to present 3 ideas we brainstormed on at the Transition Town Durham meeting last night (26th May) : 1) Good trails need to be created in and between towns for cycling and walking. The towns councillors and private owners and Land Trust people need to be contacted. Anyone want to meet to develop a map? 2) a Bike day for raising awareness of health benefits, safety road rules (for car drivers and cyclists, saving fuel by biking and 3) a Car Share posting so people can easily find or share rides.
