Anyone Out There? 4 Replies

I've been hearing rumours of a Transition Town movement in Wiarton, but nothing beyond that.  Is there anyone interested in getting this going?  I've been to a couple of the meetings in Lion's Head,…Continue

Hey everyone!

So many interested people were unable to come tonight for so many reasons that we have rescheduled for exactly two weeks form today, Sunday June 12 same time and place!

Please let me know if you are one of the peope now able to come! Tomorrow I'll create a new event listing, and ask you to consider which neighbours or friends who may not be on this site might be interested in attending.

Meanwhile, many of you will be enjoying the axeman summit tongiht, and now I will probably join you!

Warmly

Anna Jean

Hi Anna Jean:

Just discovered that I have a conflict with the 29th...a choir concert in Paisley that starts at 6:00 P.M. This is really unfortunate. I'll give you a call soon to discuss whether you were counting on me for "presentations" or whether we could talk about how the meeting might happen. Have you been getting any feedback locally? So far not too much response on this page.

I was able to attend some of the events held in Guelph for transition town week.

Anna Jean and myself have much to share regarding that.  It was a huge success with a large turnout.  Very inspiring!!!

I am glad to be coming back to the area and that we will be trying to start a local Wiarton group.  Lets do this !!!

Wow I didn't know the council meets Sundays!
Yes to all your suggestions, plus I have it on my Green Heart Spring Calendar
That's posted several places around the area & I'll ask Kelsey to include it in her
Next email to vendors.
She heard about it when I announced it at gardening workshop.
We can still brainstorm ways to partner with local municipalities & I could invite Judy Gay from Georgian Bluffs.

Unfortunately there is a south B. Pen council meeting on the 29th which means John Close will be unavailable to attend. Is the thought that this meeting would attract folks from south bruce...including sauble? oliphant? big bay? Purple Valley? Not everyone is hooked into localmotiveproject, maybe we should link the idea to facebook and also phone some folks i.e., Kelsey, BJ and Paul Guest,

Had that very same thought!

Have a great time on your wanderings, give my love to Deb & see you on the 22nd!

Sunday May 29th works for me. the sun will be shining by then I hope. Maybe we could talk on the 22nd at shane's. We're just heading up to Big Bay then to Toronto to see the Water exhibit at the ROM and stay at the Gladstone Hotel so will be off line for awhile. later. The mayor of south bruce pen would be a good person to have at the meeting?!?!

Hi Deborah!

Yes, very much!! I have been involved in Guelph and in Owen Sound, but would like to help launch a strong local initiative.  How about getting Barry up for a pot luck supper and idea meeting Sunday evening, May 29?  We can have it at my place, Green Heart Gardens & Wellness Studio.  I've room for 30, if we should be so lucky!

Barry, any conflicts with this date?

That would give us time to build some momentum & invite people!

I also have a few opportunities between now & then to spread the word.

Am planning to be at regional meeting at Shanes March 22 as well.

I've just completed the 4-day training on transition initiatives and would gladly share some of the ideas with a core group in Wiarton, if there is interest. Let me know. Hope everyone's summer is going well....a little too much work on my plate, but all good.
